An apparatus for forming a porous preform used to fabricate optical fiber by extruding a plastifiable material containing silica powder as its main component, the apparatus including an extruding main body having a cylinder and a screw for extruding the plastifiable material from the cylinder, a material passage member connected to the cylinder so as to communicate therewith and having a rotation stopping member, and a molding head connected to the material passage member so as to communicate therewith.

Un appareil pour former une préforme poreuse utilisée pour la fabrication de fibre optique par l'extrusion d'un matériau plastifiable contenant de la poudre de silice comme élément principal; l'appareil comprend un corps principal d'extrusion avec un cylindre et une vis pour extruder le matériau plastifiable du cylindre, une pièce pour le passage du matériau reliée au cylindre de sorte à communiquer avec ce dernier ainsi qu'une pièce d'arrêt des rotations, et une tête de moulage reliée à la pièce pour le passage du matériau de sorte à communiquer avec cette dernière.
