1 Gr?nzweig + Hartmann AG 6700 Ludwigshafen, DE Abstract 1. Apparatus for producing mineral wool from silicate raw materials such as basalt by blast drawing. 2.1. The object of the invention is to make available a corresponding apparatus which facilitates an increase in operational reliability. 2.2. The apparatus, operating in accordance with the blast drawing process for the production of mineral wool features a melting tank and a distributor tank (5) fed therefrom, said distributor tank (5) having exit orifices (6) for primary filaments of melt (1), a blast nozzle unit (8) arranged underneath the distributor tank (5), a chute (16), and an accumulating conveyor (3) for deposition and transportation of the mineral wool produced as a continuous web. Between the exit end of the blast nozzle unit (8) and the entry zone (26) of the chute (16) is arranged a guide cell (13) featuring a downwardly converging cross section, the entry orifice (28) of said guide cell (13) surrounding the flow bundle (27) emerging from the blast nozzle unit (8) with a lateral clearance (a). The side walls (29) of the guide cell (13) are of rigid and jacketed construction, so that cavities (35) are formed between inner wall parts (33) and outer wall parts (34) of the side walls (29) which feature connections (36, 37) for liquid coolant supply. 2.3.
