The invention relates to a device (1, 1') for recombining hydrogen in a gas mixture, for use in particular in a nuclear power station. During the operation of said device, unintentional ignition of the gas mixture is prevented in an especially reliable fashion. According to the invention, the device comprises a catalyst system (2), arranged in a housing (4) through which the gas mixture is able to circulate by free convection when the device is operational, to which is assigned a flame retention device (8). A sediment trap (14) is preferably integrated into the flame retention device (8) to reliably prevent hot catalyst particles that have become detached from the catalyst system (2) from exiting against the direction of flow of the gas mixture.

L'invention concerne un dispositif (1, 1') de recombinaison d'hydrogène dans un mélange gazeux, notamment pour centrale nucléaire pendant le fonctionnement de laquelle un allumage involontaire du mélange gazeux est évité de manière particulièrement fiable. Selon l'invention, ce dispositif comprend un système catalytique (2) disposé dans un boîtier (4) que le mélange gazeux peut traverser en convection libre en cas de fonctionnement et auquel est associé un dispositif de retenue de flamme (8).
