Abstract This invention relates to a pigment suspension usable for film coating tablets and the like, comprising lake pigment particles, a polymeric colloid, a viscosity lowering agent, which permits a higher concentration of pigment particles in the pigment suspension, and an aqueous solvent. A typical pigment suspension comprises a lake pigment, titanium dioxide, a natural gum, sodium tartrate, and water.
