ARTICLES WITH INTERNAL CONDUCTORS AND METHOD OF MAKING SUCH ARTICLES Abstract of the Disclosure In a process for providing electrodes or conductors in sintered ceramic body sheets of a finely divided insulating or dielectric ceramic composition are bonded with a heat- fugitive bond. The composition forms a dense layer when fired to sintering temperature. A deposit of a second composition is introduced between the sheets. This second composition has a heat-fugitive bond and develops an open structure when fired. A plurality of these sheets and intervening deposits are consolidated whereby to obtain a heat-fugitive bonded, self- sustaining body. This body is then heated to eliminate the heat-fugitive bonds. The body is then heated to sintering temperature to produce a sintered monolithic body having areas of dense ceramic material and open-structured areas with each such open-structured area extending to an edge region of the monolithic body. A conductive material is then provided in the open-structured areas by injecting molten metal into such areas, the edge regions of the sintered, monolithic body being provided with penetrable barriers and the molten metal being forced through these barriers into the open-structured areas.
