Methods of measuring gastric emptying time comprising providing to a patient a meal comprising a breath test food additive substrate, wherein the substrate is a linear or cyclic acyl aminoacid peptidomimetic that includes a radioactive or non- radioactively labeled carbon atom; having the patient digest the meal so that the carbon labeled nutrients therein are absorbed in the small intestine and metabolized to labeled CO2; and, at periodic intervals, detecting the level of labeled CO2 in breath samples taken from the patient to determine the rate of gastric emptying are disclosed.
L'invention concerne des procédés de mesure du temps de vidange gastrique, qui consiste à donner à un patient un repas comprenant un substrat d'additif alimentaire pour test d'haleine. Ledit substrat est un peptidoanalogue d'aminoacide acylique cyclique ou linéaire comprenant un atome de carbone radioactif ou non marqué de manière radioactive; à attendre que le patient ait digéré son repas, de sorte que les nutriants marqués au carbone soient absorbés dans l'intestin grêle et soient métabolisés sous forme de CO¿2? marqué; et, à intervalles périodiques, à détecter le niveau de CO¿2? marqué dans les échantillons d'haleine prélevés sur le patient, pour la détermination de la vitesse de vidange gastrique.
