Abstract of the Disclosure An automatic endorser adapted selectively to apply an endorsement at different locations along the back of a check moving along a path extending between the endorser unit and the platen in a direction generally transverse to the check length. A select lever is adapted to be moved laterally of the check path to move the endorser to a position corresponding to a selected ebdorsement location. Visible means is provided for locking the select lever and endorser unit in position.
