An automatic immunoassay apparatus including reaction vessels containing samples to be assayed and reagents. The reaction vessels are arranged in modules (40) that are translatable and slidable between rails defining a U-shaped channel (24) between means (26) for automatically supplying the reaction vessels and means (28) for discharging the vessels after use.
