ABSTRACT A barrier resin in particulate form produced by the process comprising polymerizing in combination (1) vinyl halide monomer; (2) vinylidene chloride monomer; (3) in-reactor modifying component selected from the group consisting of epoxide stabilizers, epoxidized soy-bean oil, epoxidized linseed oil, epoxidized tallow, epoxidized lard, the product of esterification of an epoxidized fatty acid and a synthetic alcohol, and synthetic epoxy esters. These resins canbe formed into articles which have excellent barrier and heat sealability properties.
