A bearing for an electric motor comprises two substantially identical body members each having a substantially semi-circular cross-section which can be aligned together to define a cavity for the motor and associated rotor. The motor is secured within the cavity by top and bottom walls, and by a plurality of motor core support fins and containment fins provided within the cavity. At least one guide seat in each body member is dimensioned to receive a brush, and can be retained by a torsion spring. Securing means are provided to selected corresponding locations on the lateral edges of the body members, and their top and bottom walls and are configured to be engageable, preferably by indentations, to secure the body members in alignment. The bearing is readily adaptable to different situations without requiring additional parts, is manufactured using a single mould, and results in increased efficiency and economy.
