The invention provides an articulated bending mold for shaping heat softened substrates, e.g., glass sheets, into curved shapes. The bending mold has a central portion with at least one, and preferably two, pivoting end sections. A biasing assembly is mounted on the side of the mold between the end section pivot points, preferably outboard of the end section pivot points and in proximity to an outer side of the end section. The biasing assembly includes a weight arm with a linkage assembly mounted on one end of the weight arm and connected to the end section, preferably at or near an outer corner of the end section.
L'invention concerne un moule de cintrage articulé permettant d'imprimer une courbure à des substrats ramollis par la chaleur, notamment des plaques de verre. Le moule de cintrage comporte une partie centrale, et au moins une, mais de préférence deux sections terminales pivotantes. Un ensemble de contrainte est monté sur le côté du moule entre les points de pivot de la section terminale, de préférence à l'extérieur des points de pivot de la section terminale et à proximité d'un côté extérieur de la section terminale. L'ensemble de contrainte comprend un bras de lestage pourvu d'un ensemble de liaison monté sur une extrémité dudit bras et relié à la section terminale, de préférence, au niveau ou à proximité d'un coin extérieur de la section terminale.
