Disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions for reducing a wasting condition in a mammal (e.g., human), comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a .beta.-adrenergic agonist of Formula I: (see fig. I) wherein R1, R2, R4 and R5 are H or alkyl; R3, R6 and R7 are H, halogen, alkyl, nitro, cyano, CH3 or the like.
