The present disclosure is directed to a daily dose of bifeprunox for the treatment of a patient with schizophrenia. Such dose is effectively used in methods for treating schizophrenia comprising administering to a patient a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of at least one bifeprunox compound, amongst other effects, resulting in a reduction of side effects associated with schizophrenia treatment such as: no weight gain, improvement of non-fasting triglyceride levels and/or total cholesterol levels. Treatment effects are e.g. a reduction of PANSS total score in a patient and an increase of the time to deterioration of schizophrenia and improvement of psychotic symptoms.
La présente invention concerne une dose quotidienne de biféprunox pour le traitement d'un patient schizophrène. Une telle dose est utilisée efficacement dans des procédés de traitement de la schizophrénie qui comprennent l'administration à un patient d'une composition pharmaceutique comprenant une quantité efficace d'au moins un composé de biféprunox, ce qui se traduit, entre autres effets, par la réduction des effets secondaires associés au traitement de la schizophrénie, en particulier : pas de gain de poids, amélioration des taux non à jeun des triglycérides et/ou des taux de cholestérol total. Les effets du traitement sont par exemple une réduction de la note PANSS totale chez un patient, une augmentation de la durée jusqu'à la détérioration due à la schizophrénie et une amélioration des symptômes psychotiques.
