A mineral fiber is disclosed having a composition including the following components in about the indicated weight percents: SiO2, 48-64; Al2O3, 0-6; MgO, 21-31; CaO, 11-20; Iron Oxide (as FeO), 4.2-8; K2O, 0-5; Na2O, 0-5; TiO2, 0-3; wherein the total weight of Na2O and K2O does not exceed 5 % and the total weight of all components, including trace elements, if any, is 100 %.

Fibres minérales composées des constituants suivants, en pourcentage en poids: SiO¿2?, 48-64; Al¿2?O¿3?, 0-6; MgO, 21-31, CaO, 11-20; oxyde de fer, sous forme de FeO, 4,2-8; K¿2?O, 0-5; Na¿2?O, 0-5 et TiO¿2?, 0-3.
