A blood sampling instrument includes a blood collecting tube having a stopper fitted therein for maintaining the interior of the tube depressurized in order to collect a predetermined amount of a blood sample, and a holder into which the blood collecting tube is inserted in order to be used. When vulcanized rubber having a large permanent compression set or an inexpensive a polymeric composite material which does not require vulcanization is used as the material constituting the stopper, which will be punctured by a hollow needle, there is little frictional force produced between the needle and the stopper and, hence, the blood collecting tube may be forcibly urged away from the holder by the elastic restoration force of a collapsed rubber shroud in the holder when a blood sampling is taken. To prevent this from occurring, the blood collecting tube or the holder is provided with frictional resistance bodies so that the tube and the holder will engage each other frictionally.
