ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The clamp is intended to be attached to a vertical pole such as a hydro pole or a telephone pole and has a jaw which slides into and out of contact with a cable such as an electrical conductor. A stud mates threadably with the jaw and rotates about an axis oriented generally normal to the longitudinal axis of the cable. The stud causes the jaw to move in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the stud. The stud may be rotated from the ground by means of a wrench attached to a long handle.
