48,260 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A capacitor is disclosed of alternating layers of plastic film and metal foil impregnated with a dielec- tric fluid which is an ester of a benzene tri- or tetra- carboxylic acid. The esters are preferably trimellitic acid esters, especially tri-isodecyl-trimellitate. The dielectric fluid is sufficiently non-flammable to meet safety requirements and has a relatively high dielectric constant and low power factor.
