ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides carbacyclin esters of the general formula Image (I), in which R1 is phenyl or phenyl substituted by bromo, chloro, phenyl or 1-2 C1-4-alkoxy groups, R3 is methyl or ethyl, X is an oxygen atom or -CH2-, A is trans-CH=CH- or -C?C, W is -CH(OH)-, wherein the OH-group can be in the .alpha. or .beta.-position, D is a C2-C5 alkylene with a C2-chain separating W and E, E is -C?C or - CH=CR5- wherein R5 is alkyl of 1-5 carbon atoms. The compounds have a broncho-dilative action and are suitable for inhibiting thrombocyte aggregation for reducing blood pressure and for inhibiting gastric acid secretion.
