The instant invention provides carbamate functional polymers and/or oligomers and coating compositions containing such which have improved levels of nonvolatile solids yet demonstrate good sprayability and etch resistance. The carbamate functional polymers and/or oligomers of the invention comprise the polymerization reaction product of (a) a polymer or oligomer comprising a plurality of functional groups reactive with an active hydrogen group, and (b) a monomeric compound of the formula: wherein at least one of Y and Z is an active hydrogen containing group and the other is a primary carbamate group, and R is of the formula:-(L)n-R' wherein L is a linking group of one or more carbons containing heteratoms selected from the group consisting of O,N, andmixtures thereof, R' is an alkyl group free of heteratoms and selected from the group consisting of branched alkyl groups having from 5 to 30 carbons, straight chain alkyl groups of more than 2 carbons, and mixtures thereof, and n is a number from 0 to 1.
L'invention concerne des polymères et/ou des oligomères fonctionnels de carbamate, et des compositions de revêtement en contenant et possédant des niveaux plus importants de solides non volatiles mais néanmoins une bonne faculté d'application par pulvérisation et une bonne résistance à la gravure. Les polymères et/ou les oligomères fonctionnels de carbamate contiennent le produit de réaction a) d'un polymère ou d'un oligomère renfermant plusieurs groupes fonctionnels réactifs avec un groupe hydrogène actif, et b) un composé monomère de formule (I) dans laquelle au moins Y ou Z représente un groupe contenant de l'hydrogène actif et l'autre un groupe carbamate primaire, et R est de formule (L)n-R' où L représente un groupe de liaison d'un ou de plusieurs carbones renfermant des hétéroatomes sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué de O, N et des mélanges de ces derniers, R' représente un groupe alkyle exempt d'hétéroatomes et sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par des groupes alkyle ramifiés dotés de 5 à 30 atomes de carbone, des groupes alkyle à chaîne droite de plus de 2 carbones et des mélanges de ces derniers, et n est 0 ou 1.
