Compositions including oxycarbide-based nanorods and/or carbide-based nanorods and/or carbon nanotubes bearing carbides and oxycarbides and methods of making the same are provided. Rigid porous structures including oxycarbide-based nanorods and/or carbide-based nanorods and/or carbon nanotubes bearing carbides and oxycarbides and methods of making the same are also provided. The compositions and rigid porous structures of the invention can be used either as catalyst and/or catalyst supports in fluid phase catalytic chemical reactions. Processes for making supported catalyst for selected fluid phase catalytic reactions are also provided. The fluid phase catalytic reactions include hydrogenation, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodenitrogenation, hydrodemetallization, hydrodeoxigenation, hydrodearomatization, dehydrogenation, hydrogenolysis, isomerization, alkylation, dealkylation and transalkylation.
La présente invention concerne, d'une part des compositions incluant des barres à base d'oxycarbure et/ou des barres à base de carbure et/ou des nanotubes de carbone portant des carbures et oxycarbures, et d'autre part les procédés de fabrication correspondants. L'invention concerne également, d'une part des structures rigides poreuses incluant des nanobarres à base d'oxycarbure, des nanobarres à base de carbure, et/ou des nanotubes de carbone portant des carbures et des oxycarbures, et d'autre part les procédés de fabrication correspondants. Les compositions et les structures rigides poreuses de l'invention conviennent comme catalyseurs et/ou suports de catalyseurs dans des réactions chimiques de catalyse en phase fluide. L'invention concerne enfin des procédés permettant de faire un catalyseur supporté pour certaines réactions de catalyse en phase fluide telles qu'hydrogénation, hydrodésulfuration, hydrodénitrogénation, hydrodémétallisation, hydrodésoxygénation, hydrodésaromatisation, déshydrogénation, hydrogénolyse, isomérisation, alkylation, désalkylation et transalkylation.
