The invention relates to an improved carbon supported-noble metal sulphide electrocatalyst suitable for being incorporated in gas-diffusion electrode structures, in particular in oxygen-reducing gas-diffusion cathodes for aqueous hydrochloric acid electrolysis. The noble metal sulphide particles are monodispersed on the active carbon particles and the surface area ratio of noble metal sulphide particles to active carbon particles is at least 0.20.

L'invention concerne un électrocatalyseur à base de sulfure de métal noble supporté sur du carbone, amélioré, pouvant être utilisé dans des structures d'électrodes à diffusion gazeuse, en particulier des cathodes à diffusion gazeuse à réduction de l'oxygène pour des applications d'électrolyse de solutions aqueuses d'acide chlorhydrique. Les particules de sulfure de métal noble sont monodispersées sur les particules de charbon actif et le rapport de surface des particules de sulfure de métal noble aux particules de charbon actif est d'au moins 0,20.
