Disclosed is a cell culture method whereby a biological function can be sustained over a long period of time and the culture can be conducted using the minimum number of cells required. A cell culture method which comprises culturing undifferentiated cells in a layered state in a partitioned small space to give differentiated cells. In screening a drug, undifferentiated cells capable of differentiating into liver cells, intestinal epithelial cells, nerve cells, myocardial cells and vascular endothelial cells are preferred. In the case of predicting drug dynamics or the like in humans, human cells are particularly preferred.
