Compounds of Formula (I), including pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the compounds, are CETP inhibitors, and are useful for raising HDL-cholesterol, reducing LDL-cholesterol, and for treating or preventing atherosclerosis. In the compounds of Formula 1, A1 and A2 are each an aromatic ring, a 5-6- membered heterocyclic ring, an aromatic ring fused to a heterocyclic ring, a phenyl ring fused to a heterocyclic ring, or a cycloalkyl ring.
L'invention concerne des composés représentés par la formule (I) comprenant des sels de ces composés pharmaceutiquement acceptables qui sont des inhibiteurs de CETP et sont utilisés pour élever le niveau de cholestérol HDL, réduire le niveau de cholestérol LDL et traiter et ou prévenir l'athérosclérose. Dans ces composés représentés par la formule 1, A1 et A2 représentent chacun un noyau aromatique, un noyau hétérocyclique à 5-6 éléments, un noyau aromatique fusionné avec un noyau hétérocyclique et un noyau phényle fusionné avec un noyau hétérocyclique ou un noyau cycloalkyle.
