A CHLORIDE CONTAINING EMULSION AND A PROCESS FOR EMULSION PREPARATION Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention is directed to a process of precipitating for use in photography a high aspect ratio tabular grain emulsion employing a dispersing medium containing a gelatino-peptizer comprised of less than 30 micromoles of methionine per gram and at least a 0.5 molar concentration of chloride ion. A wide range of chloride ion concentrations in the tabular grains can be achieved while avoiding the use of tabular grain thickening ripening agents and synthetic peptizers.
