A seal for a container opening includes a seal layer for connecting to and covering an opening of the container. A pull-tab forming layer is bonded to the seal layer. The pull-tab forming layer has a heat resistant surface joined to the seal layer, and a hinge disposed near the center of the seal. A portion of the pull-tab forming layer defines a pair of opposed pull~tabs extending from the hinge, in which the heat resistant surface covers a top surface of each of the pull-tabs, a surface of the pull-tabs opposite the top surface, and a portion of the pull~tab forming layer facing the surface of the pull- tabs opposite the top surface. A method of forming the seal and a material blank for forming a plurality of the seals are also described.

L'invention concerne un joint de fermeture pour orifice de contenant qui comprend une couche étanche se rattachant à l'orifice et couvrant cet orifice.
