A coated article includes a glass substrate that supports a coating such as a low- E (low ernissivity) coating. In certain embodiments, the glass substrate is formed of a soda-lime-silica based glass composition manufactured using a float process. In certain embodiments, lithium oxide (e.g., Li20) and/or potassium oxide (K20) is used in the soda-lime-silica based glass substrate in order to reduce sodium migration and/or improve surface stability. Such coated articles are useful, for example in architectural, vehicular and/or residential glass window applications.

Dans certains modes de réalisation, le substrat de verre est constitué d~une composition de verre à base de soude-chaux-silice fabriquée par un processus de flottage. Dans certains modes de réalisation de l~oxyde de lithium (par ex. Li20) et/ou de l~oxyde de potassium (K20) est utilisé dans le substrat de verre à base de soude-chaux-silice afin de réduire la migration de sodium et/ou améliorer la stabilité de la surface. De tels objets revêtus sont utiles, par exemple dans les applications de fenêtres en verre en architecture, en automobile ou dans les résidences.
