+ An endo-prosthesis (10) is provided having at least first and second resilient coiled sheet portions (11, 12), and an intermediate region (13) comprising a helical articulation. The coiled sheet portions may be of the same or different diameters so as to accommodate a taper in the body lumen, while the helical articulation comprises a mesh portion that provides both flexibility and high radial strength, and which contracts to its delivery profile with relatively few turns. The coiled sheet portions also may be of the same or different lengths, and for very long devices may be interspersed between a plurality of helical articulation portions. The pitch of the helical articulation may be varied to create a partial telescoping of the helical articulation within one of the first and second coiled sheet portions when in a contracted state. The prosthesis may also be used for treating bifurcated vessels.
L'invention concerne une endo-prothèse (10) qui comprend au moins une première et une deuxième sections de bande enroulée élastique (11, 12) et une zone intermédiaire (13) présentant une articulation hélicoïdale. Lesdites sections de bande enroulée peuvent être de diamètre identique ou différent de manière à loger un cône dans la lumière du corps. L'articulation hélicoïdale comprend une section à maille qui confère à la fois une souplesse et une force radiale élevée, et qui se rétracte jusqu'à atteindre son profil de sortie dans lequel elle présente relativement peu de révolutions. Les sections de bande enroulée peuvent être également de longueur identique ou différente et, pour des dispositifs très long, peuvent être intercalées entre une série de sections d'une articulation hélicoïdale. Le pas de l'articulation hélicoïdale peut être varié pour créer un télescopage partiel de ce dernier à l'intérieur de la première ou de la deuxième section de bande enroulée lorsque celle-ci est contractée. La prothèse peut être utilisée également pour traiter des vaisseaux bifurqués.
