A coin sorter of sorting mixed coins by de- nomination includes a rotatable disc (13), a drive motor (14) for rotating the disc, and a stationary sorting head (12) having a lower surface gener- ally parallel to the upper surface of the rotatable disc and spaced slightly therefrom. The lower sur- face of the sorting head forms a plurality of exit channels (40-45) for guiding coins of different de- nominations to different discharge stations around the periphery of the disc. A plurality of coin sensor/discriminators (S/D1,S/D2) are mounted in the stationary sorting head over the rotatable disc for discriminating between valid and invalid coins guided by said stationary sorting head. At least one coin sensor/discriminator is mounted in each of the plurality of exit channels.

Trieuse de pièces servant à trier, en fonction de leur valeur, des pièces mélangées, cette trieuse comprenant un disque rotatif (13), un moteur d'entraînement (14) qui fait tourner le disque et une tête trieuse fixe (12) comprenant une surface inférieure qui est globalement parallèle à la surface supérieure du disque rotatifet légèrement espacée de cette dernière. La surface inférieure de la tête trieuse forme une pluralité de canaux de sortie (40-45) destinés à guider les pièces ayant des valeurs différentes vers différentes unités de sortie situées autour de la périphérie du disque. Plusieurs capteurs/sélecteurs (S/D1, S/D2) sont montés dans la tête trieuse fixe au-dessus du disque rotatif pour départager les pièces bonnes ou mauvaises guidées par ladite tête trieusefixe. Au moins un capteur/sélecteur de pièces est monté dans chacun des divers canaux de sortie.
