ABSTRACT A coke oven door has a hollow stopper made of ceramic material with supporting elements in the form of mats both sides of which are provided with layers of refractory material applied by the concrete-spraying process. The hollow stopper (1) is formed from two ridge-shaped wall elements (2, 3) and a pivoting closure element (4). The closure element (4) is preferably connected to the wall elements (2, 3) by connecting elements (12, 19, 20).
