This invention relates to certain novel chemical compounds which inhibit the binding of a Rev protein to a Rev response element. These compounds reduce the binding activity of the protein to the response element by at least about 50 % and preferably 90 % or more. Another embodiment relates to a method for inhibiting the binding of a Rev protein to a Rev response element by administering one of these compounds to a subject in vitro.

L'invention porte sur certains composés chimiques nouveaux inhibant la fixation d'une protéine Rev (régulatrice du VIH) sur son élément de réponse. Ces composés réduisent l'activité de fixation de la protéine sur l'élément de réponse d'au moins 50 % et même de 90 % ou plus. Elle porte en outre sur un procédé d'inhibition de la fixation d'une protéine Rev à son élément de réponse consistant à administrer in vitro l'un desdits composés à un sujet.
