Abstract of the Disclosure In a rotatable, turret type, glass press, a turret positioner and clamp assembly for the glass pressing position includes peripheral rail sections on the mold table having channels and a mating wedge member mounted at the press position, the mating members being in the shape of inverted trapezoids. The mechanism also includes means to move the wedge into and out of engagement with each channel, the movement starting as the leading edge of the channel moves under the leading edge of the wedge. The movement of the clamp assembly into position occurs as the table indexing step is being completed. This saves time and increases the pressing rate.
