Compensation Guide System. The present invention pertains to an apparatus for limiting the oscillation amplitude of elevator suspension and compensation elements, preferably having a counterweight movable in guide rails wherein one or more limiting or boundary frames, surrounding the guide rails, suspension and compensation elements, as well as the counterweight, are attached at the guide rails and limit the lateral deflections of the suspension elements and especially the compensation elements on the counterweight side thereof, with the boundary frame being comprised of two portions and being spring biased together, against stop portions located behind the guide rails, so that during strong lateral deflections, particularly of the compensation elements, the contact of a safety switch is activated.
