A reproduction program is installed in a PC, and then a ripping key of a CD is provided from, e.g. an FD. By using the ripping key, the music contents in the CD can be copied to a PD, but music contents cannot be downloaded from an EMD server and copied to a PD. If the music contents distributed from an EMD server is stored in a PD, a key for EMD different from the ripping key is acquired through a network and the reproduction program is executed. Thus, the security of the contents data distributed through a network is enhanced.

L'invention concerne un programme de reproduction installé dans un ordinateur personnel, PC. Une clé d'ouverture est fournie à partir d'un FD, par exemple. A l'aide de cette clé, le contenu musical du CD peut être copié sur un PD, mais ne peut être téléchargé d'un serveur EMD et copié sur un PD. Si ce contenu, distribué à partir d'un serveur EMD est stocké dans un PD, on peut acquérir une clé, différente de la clé d'ouverture, par le biais d'un réseau, le programme de reproduction étant alors exécuté. Ainsi, on renforce la sécurité des données de contenu distribuées sur un réseau.
