ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A continuous cellular glass manufacturing method is disclosed. The method avoids the known methods which employ heavy moulds or slow drying techniques and provides a simple process wherein a mixture of ground glass and one or more other substances is at least partly solidified by drying, allowed to stand for at least 10 minutes. The mixture is granulated into a glassy mass and distributed over a refractory wire conveyor belt on which a separating substance has previously been spread to prevent the glassy mass sticking to the belt. The glassy mass is then transported on the conveyor belt through a furnace in which the glassy mass melts, expands and then cools after leaving the furnace.
