A control device for a directional drilling tool is disclosed, particularly for drilling work with coiled tubing as the drilling tube and with a tubular outer casing (1) which accommodates an orientating device (4) and a measuring and control device (6) with a measured value sensing part (7), an electronic measured value processing part (8) and a control part (9) and comprising, adapted to be connected to the bore hole end of the drill pipe via a connecting part (10) a first outer casing part (2) and, directly axially adjacent the first casing part (2), a second outer casing part (3) mounted to rotate with a bearing part (18) in the casing part (2) and about its longitudinal central axis (21) and which can be connected by a connecting part (17) to the directional drilling tool in such a way that it is rotatable by the orientating device (4; 104) which is associated with the first outer casing part (2), characterised in that the orientating device (4; 104) has as its drive source an electric motor (27, 127) for positioning movements and which in operation acts upon an intermediate transmission which actuates the second outer casing part (3).
