Abstract of the Disclosure An edge roll machine for contacting a marginal portion of a body of glass being formed into a continuous sheet of glass while floating on molten metal is provided with a glass-engaging edge roll having an internal fluid coolant distributor having spiral vanes to direct the coolant against the surface the periphery of the roll in order to provide gripping contact with molten glass while avoiding sticking of the roll to the glass.
