ABSTRACT A decorative clasp comprises a clasp upper part having a dish-shaped cross-section to provide an upper surface an an open underside with downwardly facing edges. Material covers the clasp upper part and has ends secured within the clasp. The clasp further includes a clasp lower part having a dish-shaped cross-section to provide a lower surface and an open top side with upwardly facing edges. The open top side of the clasp lower part is pressed into the open underside of the clasp upper part to provide an internal clasp space within the clasp for receiving the ends of the material. The upper surface of the clasp upper part is inclined relative to the lower surface of the clasp lower part when pressed together so that the upper and lower surfaces are non-parallel to each other. The upper surface of the clasp upper part is disposed in a first plane and the edges of the open underside of the clasp upper part are disposed in a second plane. The first plane is inclined relative to the second plane. The lower surface of the clasp lower part is disposed in a third plane and the edges of the open top side of the clasp lower part are disposed in a fourth plane. The fourth plane is inclined relative to the third plane. The third plane of the lower surface of the clasp lower part is parallel to the second plane of the edges of the open underside of the clasp lower part and the fourth plane of the edges of the open top side of the clasp lower part is parallel to the first plane of the upper surface of the clasp upper part.
