A crystallized glass which can be redraw-molded and a process for producing a crystallized glass article by redraw-molding. In the crystallized glass, the maximum particle size of the deposited crystals is 5 µm or below and the glass phase amounts to 10 to 85 % by volume. It has a softening point lower than the melting point of the main deposited crystals and its crystallization does not proceed substantially, even when it is heated to a temperature higher than the softening point. A redraw-molded crystallized glass article may be produced by premolding the above-mentioned crystallized glass and then orienting it while heating to a temperature higher than the softening point.
Ce verre cristallisé peut être moulé par réétirage et un procédé permet de produire un article de verre cristallisé par moulage par réétirage. Dans ce verre cristallisé, la taille maximum de particules des cristaux déposés est de 5 mu m ou moins et la phase vitreuse représente 10 à 85 % de son volume. Il présente un point de ramollissement inférieur au point de fusion des plus gros cristaux déposés et sa cristallisation reste partielle même quand on le chauffe jusqu'à une température dépassant ce point de ramollissement. On produit un article de verre cristallisé par moulage par réétirage en prémoulant ce verre cristallisé puis en l'orientant tout en le chauffant à une température supérieure à son point de ramollissement.
