Cytoprotective compounds, many of which are phenolic derivatives characterized by a substituded phenol having certain conjugated bonds, are useful in the treatment of certain ischemic or inflammatory conditions, including but not limited to stroke, myocardial infraction, congestive heart failure, and skin disorders characterized by inflammation or oxidative damage. They are also useful in the manufacture of pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations for the treatment of such conditions.
L'invention concerne des composés cytoprotecteurs, parmi lesquels un grand nombre sont des dérivés phénoliques caractérisés par un phénol substitué possédant certaines liaisons conjuguées, utiles dans le traitement de certaines pathologies inflammatoires ou ischémiques, tels qu'entre autre, les accidents vasculaires cérébraux, les infarctus du myocarde, les insuffisances cardiaques globales, et les troubles cutanés caractérisés par des inflammations ou des stress oxydatifs. Ces composés sont également utiles dans la fabrication de formulations pharmaceutiques et cosmétiques destinées au traitement de telles pathologies.
