In a cluster (20) of computing nodes (22) having shared access to one or more volumes of data storage (24) using a parallel file system (28), a method for managing the data storage includes initiating a session of a data management application (32) on a first one of the nodes (40), while running a user application (30) on a second one of the nodes (42). A request is submitted to the parallel file system by the user application on the second node to perform a file operation on a file in one of the volumes of data storage. A data management event message is sent from the second node to the first node responsive to the request, for processing by the data management application on the first node.
Selon l'invention, dans une grappe (20) de noeuds de traitement (22) possédant un accès partagé à un ou plusieurs volumes de stockage des données (24) mettant en oeuvre un système de fichier parallèles (28), un procédé de gestion du stockage des données consiste à lancer une session d'une application de gestion des données (32) sur un premier noeud (40), une application utilisateur (30) étant exécutée en même temps sur un second noeud (42). Une application utilisateur soumet une demande au système de fichier parallèle sur le second noeud, en vue d'effectuer une opération de fichier sur un fichier dans un des volumes de stockage des données. Un message d'événement de gestion de données est envoyé à partir du second noeud vers le premier noeud répondant à la demande, en vue être traité par l'application de gestion des données sur le premier noeud.
