The invention concerns a decelerator device for obtaining constant and maximal decelerating power whatever the engine and as from very low speeds, by controlling the gas pressure upstream of the valve by balancing the efforts at the pressure-relief valve. Said decelerator device (1) is characterised in that it comprises a balancing device (20) incorporated in the gate (2) body (4) and comprising a leakage conduit (21) controlled by a calibrated check valve (22). When the valve (7) is closed and, based on a counter-pressure threshold predetermined by the calibration of the compression spring (27) provided at said check valve (22) rear, the latter is lifted from its seat (25) and communicates the channel (5) upstream of the valve (7) with the leakage duct (21) generating an exhaust gas leakage. Beyond said threshold, the calibrated check valve (22) remains open, thereby ensuring constant and maximal counter-pressure whatever the engine speed. The invention is applicable to combustion engine vehicles and in particular industrial vehicles.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif ralentisseur permettant d'obtenir une puissance de ralentissement constante et maximale quel que soit le régime du moteur et dès les faibles régimes, en pilotant la pression des gaz en amont de l'obturateur par un équilibrage des forces au niveau d'un clapet de décharge. Le dispositif ralentisseur (1) est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte un dispositif d'équilibrage (20) intégré dans le corps (4) de la vanne (2) et comportant un conduit de fuite (21) commandé par un clapet taré (22). Quand l'obturateur (7) est fermé et, à partir d'un seuil de contre-pression prédéterminé par le tarage d'un ressort de compression (27) prévu à l'arrière dudit clapet (22), ce dernier se soulève de son siège (25) et met en communication le canal (5) en amont de l'obturateur (7) avec le conduit de fuite (21) générant une fuite des gaz d'échappement. Au-delà de ce seuil, la clapet taré (22) reste ouvert, ce qui assure une contre-pression constante et maximale quel que soit le régime du moteur. Application: Véhicules équipés d'un moteur à combustion et notamment véhicules industriels.
