A deck portion of a trailer is pivotal relative to a main deck portion about a horizontal axis to allow an outer edge of the deck portion to be pivoteddownwardly into contact with the ground for loading onto the main deck. Movement of the deck portion is actuated by a hinged strut which is inclined upwardly and outwardly from an inner end underneath the pivot axis to an outer end outwardly of the pivot axis. The hinge point of the strut is pushed inwardly and outwardly by a cylinder to effect movement of the strut to a straight position for raising the deck portion and to a folded position for lowering the deck portion. A stop member locates the strut in a slightly over center position in the raised position.
La présente invention vise une section du plancher d'une remorque pouvant pivoter à l'horizontale par rapport à la section principale du plancher de façon qu'un segment extérieur de cette section de plancher puisse être inclinée vers le bas et appuyée au sol pour le chargement de la section principale du plancher. Le déplacement de la section de plancher est commandé par une contrefiche articulée qui se soulève vers l'extérieur depuis une extrémité intérieure située sous l'axe de pivot, en direction d'une extrémité extérieure de cet axe de pivot. L'articulation de la contrefiche est poussée vers l'intérieur ou vers l'extérieur par un cylindre, tantôt pour déployer la contrefiche de manière à ce qu'elle soit bien droite (à l'horizontale) afin de soulever le plancher, tantôt pour la replier en vue d'abaisser la section de plancher jusqu'au sol. Un dispositif d'arrêt immobilise la contrefiche en position légèrement excentrée lorsqu'elle est soulevée, ou horizontale.
