The molding of this invention is shaped for abutment with decorative laminate extending beyond an exposed edge of particle board at the edge of a counter. This abutment minimizes the visibility of the seam between decorative laminate on themolding and the decorative laminate on a counter. This molding is also shaped for abutment with an exposed edge of particle board from which a counter is made. Abutment with an exposed edge of particle board aligns the molding along the edge of a counter. The molding of this invention is further shaped to extend adjacent and parallel to a lower surface of a counter. This dimension is selected to accommodate width variations that can be expected in the materials used in making a counter. This dimension is also selected for accommodating adhesive to rigidly bond the molding of this invention to particle board along the lower edge of a counter.
