A decorative lamp assembly includes a mounting unit and an enclosure body fastened to the mounting unit. The enclosure body has a cover portion provided with an external surface. An electric bulb unit is installed within the enclosure body. A transparent rotary member has an opaque pattern unit indicated thereon and is mounted rotatably within the enclosure body so as to be located between the bulb unit and the cover portion, thereby shielding the bulb unit in such a manner that rays of light emitted from the bulbs pass through the transparent portion of the rotary member and penetrate partially the cover portion to display silhouettes of the pattern unit on the external surface. A driving unit rotates the rotary member.
