A computer-implemented visual navigation method includes providing from a wireless mobile device, over a public wireless network to a server located remotely from the wireless mobile device, information identifying a geographic location. The method also includes receiving in response, from the server, image data of digital images captured from an location at the geographic location, displaying the image data to a user of the mobile device as an image of an image space around the geographic locations, and panning the image within the image space automatically in response to user motion of the wireless mobile device.

Procédé de navigation visuel à mise en oeuvre informatique consistant à fournir, depuis un dispositif mobile sans fil via un réseau public sans fil à un serveur éloigné dudit dispositif, des informations d'identification d'un emplacement géographique. Ce procédé consiste également à recevoir en retour, du serveur, des données d'image d'images numérique capturées depuis un point de l'emplacement géographique, à afficher les données d'image pour un utilisateur du dispositif mobile en tant qu'image d'un espace d'image autour de l'emplacement géographique, et faire un panoramique de l'image dans l'espace d'image automatiquement en réponse à un mouvement du dispositif mobile sans fil.
