The present invention provides a process for deinking printed waste paper comprising the steps of: a) converting the printed waste paper to an aqueous pulp slurry in a pulper, where ink is detached from paper pulp; b) subjecting the pulp slurry to flotation in order to remove hydrophobic contaminants including ink from the pulp slurry, said flotation being carried out in the presence of a deinking chemical additive comprising modified silica obtained by treating hydrophilic silica particles with a hydrophobic organic liquid or modified metal silicate obtained by treating hydrophilic metal silicate particles with a hydrophobic organic liquid or a mixture of such modified silica and modified metal silicate. The present invention increases the yield of the flotation step without affecting the brightness of the flotation accept.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de désencrage d'un déchet papier imprimé, qui comprend les étapes suivantes : a) la transformation du déchet papier imprimé en une suspension de pâte aqueuse dans un triturateur, l'encre étant détachée de la pâte de papier ; b) la soumission de la suspension de pâte à une flottation afin d'éliminer les contaminants hydrophobes, y compris l'encre, de la suspension de pâte, ladite flottation étant réalisée en présence d'un additif chimique de désencrage qui comprend de la silice modifiée obtenue par traitement de particules de silice hydrophiles avec un liquide organique hydrophobe ou du silicate métallique modifié obtenu par traitement de particules de silicate métallique hydrophiles avec un liquide organique hydrophobe ou un mélange d'une telle silice modifiée et d'un tel silicate métallique modifié. La présente invention augmente le rendement de l'étape de flottation sans affecter la luminosité de l'accepté de flottation.
