- 15 - DETACHABLE TINE CONSTRUCTION FOR A LOADER BUCKET ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A detachable tine comprises an elongate tine portion with a sharpened front end which can slide longi- tudinally into a bracket welded onto the upper surface of the lower wall of the bucket. The bracket is formed by a channel iron laid on its side so that one side forms the base of the bracket which is welded to the upper surface. The open side of the channel iron is closed by two straps one at the forward end and one at the rearward end of the channel leaving a central area open to allow the escape of material forced into the channel. A transverse pin latches the tine in place when used and can be removed to release the tine. The positioning of the brackets prevents them from interfering with the conventional horizontal cutting edge of the bucket when the tines are not used.
