ABSTRACT This invention relates to a device for applying a cap and seal to the mouth of a bottle having an interference boss for the seal. The device comprises a cylindrical body having upper means for attachment to a conventional bottling machine so that the device may be, simultaneously, both rotated and moved upwardly and downwardly. Means is also provided in the interior of the cylindrical body for the insertion therein of a cap and seal which is first centralized and stabilized for entry by movable external means on said device. The foregoing permits a cap positioned on the neck of a conventional bottle to be aligned in the device for the purpose of screwing the cap and seal on to a complementary interference boss provided on the neck of the bottle.
