ABSTRACT A device for guiding and retaining window glass in a motor vehicle has a one-piece metallic molding, for example, an aluminum extrusion, this having a U-shaped clamping area that surrounds the corresponding coach work elements of a motor vehicle with an interposed first rubber molding, and with a window-glass guide area in which, as a minimum, a second rubber molding is installed for guiding the window glass. The rubber moldings are locked positively in corresponding recesses in the metallic molding.
