A device for carrying out so called hyperthermia in a body cavity or duct, the access path of which is narrow, characterized by an elongate distal section (3) intended to be inserted into said cavity or dud comprising a centrally located) heat-releasing element (19), which is either surrounded by an elongate housing or is itself constituted by an elongate housing, and a flexible and/or: elastic enclosure (37) surrounding said housing in a liquid-tight manner) further including means (13, 15) for supplying energy to the heat-releasing element (19) and an axially operating inlet passage (35) at the proximal part of the housing, an outlet (33; 68; 87) from the housing being arranged for the supply of heat-transmitting medium under pressure for expansion of the flexible enclosure (37) to accommodate and to exert a controlled pressure on surround walls to said cavity or dud; and further characterized by a second inlet to the housing and means for internal circulation of said medium through the housing, the heat-releasing element being of an inherently self regulating type; and a method for carrying out so called hyperthermia in a body cavity, i.e. while suplying heat to said body cavity, with simultaneous application of a controlled pressure on surrounding tissue, characterized in that the supply of heat is carried out while using a heat-emitting system of an inherently self-regulating type.
On décrit un dispositif permettant de traiter ladite hyperthermie dans une cavité ou un canal du corps, dont le chemin d'accès est étroit, se caractérisant par une section distale allongée (3) conçue pour être insérée dans ladite cavité ou canal, comprenant un élément libérant la chaleur (19), placé au centre, qui est soit entouré d'un manchon allongé, soit constituant lui-même un manchon allongé, et une vessie souple et/ou élastique (37) entourant le manchon de manière à ce qu'il soit étanche aux liquides, et comprenant également des éléments (13, 15) permettant de fournir de l'énergie à l'élément libérant la chaleur (19); et un passage d'amenée fonctionnant axialement (35) situé sur la partie proximale du manchon; une sortie (33; 68; 87) de manchon conçue pour mettre sous pression le moyen de transmission de la chaleur afin de dilater la vessie souple (37) et d'adopter et d'exercer une pression contrôlée sur les parois de ladite cavité ou canal; le dispositif est en outre caractérisé par une seconde amenée vers le manchon et par des éléments destinés à la circulation interne dudit milieu dans le manchon, l'élément libérant la chaleur étant naturellement auto-régulé; et on décrit un procédé permettant de traiter ladite hyperthermie dans une cavité du corps, c'est-à-dire tout en fournissant de la chaleur à ladite cavité du corps, avec application simultanée d'une pression contrôlée sur le tissu environnant, et qui est caractérisé en ce que l'apport de chaleur est réalisé à l'aide d'un système émetteur de chaleur du type auto-régulation naturelle.
